Acercamiento de la tecnología de la información a la práctica clínica
RESUMEN
La acumulación de conocimientos cambiante y creciente hace casi imposible retener en la memoria del médico tanta información; esto complica la toma de decisiones basadas en evidencia a la hora de diagnosticar, tratar o prevenir alguna enfermedad. En la actualidad es posible tener mejor calidad de información en el expediente clínico para disminuir la posibilidad de error y de demandas médicas. Las nuevas tecnologías contenidas en las tabletas y “teléfonos inteligentes” ofrecen diferentes programas médicos que permiten hacer uso de las herramientas más modernas con repercusiones importantes en la calidad de la atención. Estas herramientas no sustituyen el conocimiento ni la experiencia clínicas, sólo son una opción que amplía las posibilidades de capacitación continuada y aplicación razonada de la información. ABSTRACT
The body of Knowledge changing and growing, almost impossible to retain in memory of the doctor as much information, which complicates the decision-marking based on evidence, when one is in direct patient care for better decision marking regarding prevention, diagnosis, prognosis and treatment. Based on this, to have a better quality of information in the clinical record to reduce the possibility of error and therefore medical claims. The emergence of new technologies such as tablets and “smart phones” have different medical programs that allow this and that internationally in United States and Spain, they already have 2-3 years using this technology, with implications important in the quality of care. That is why the importance of knowledge and usefulness of that technology, which is a useful tool in marking decisions, but not replace the knowledge they must have the clinical, his training and the reasoned application of information.
