Palabras clave: enfermedad renal crónica, filtración glomerular, proteinuria, enfermedades crónicas degenerativas
Abstract
ABSTRACT Background: Chronic kidney disease is defined as decreased renal function, expressed by a glomerular filtration rate (GFR) 60 mL/min/1.73m2 SC for more than three months, manifested by histological changes as markers of kidney damage albuminuria or proteinuria greater than 30mg/dL, or by alterations in the urinary sediment. There susceptibility factors, indicators and progression factors that predispose to the development of this pathology. Objectives: To estimate the prevalence and determine the causes for chronic kidney disease in patients managed by renal replacement therapy, peritoneal dialysis at General Hospital La Perla from January 2011 to March 2013. Patients and method: A retrospective and observational study of patients with chronic kidney disease by reviewing medical records. Results: The total sample, 58 patients were related to chronic kidney disease diabetic nephropathy, which means that the prevalence is 72.5%, 15% (n = 12) suffered from hypertension as a risk factor. There were 56 patients suffering from hypertension and concomitant diabetes mellitus, and only 15% were related to other medical history. The average age of the patients was 50 years, with close relationship with other chronic degenerative diseases. Key words: chronic kidney disease, proteinuria, glomerular filtration rate, chronic degenerative diseases.
