Abstract
ABSTRACT The application of new communication tools and information (internet, computers, smartphones and tablets) in health systems is evident. The potential of mobile communications to transform healthcare and clinical intervention in the community is enormous. Several studies have evaluated the use of these tools for communication technology to support health care and public health interventions, particularly in the collection of data for medical research and clinical practice in the community. Some studies have highlighted the successful use of smartphones and tablets in the support of telemedicine and remote healthcare in developing countries, including their use in medical diagnosis and information to support treatment diseases in remote areas. Moreover, the wealth of information, the publication of new knowledge and new technologies, which can be applied in different settings (emergency departments, intensive care units, operating rooms, outpatient, etc.), with a society increasingly applicant of the quality of care, requires the development of new technological tools support. Being of great value in establishing diagnosis, differential diagnosis, risk calculations, prognosis and treatment, with indications reasoned in the following laboratory studies indicated, appropriate use of medicines, meet or exceed the medical standards, improving the quality of medical records and decreasing influence on medical claims.
