Enfermedades y muerte por fulguración

Resumen

Se le da el nombre de fulguración a los daños orgánicos causados por la recepción de un rayo atmosférico. De acuerdo con la Organización Mundial de la Salud, México ocupa el primer lugar en el mundo en muertes anuales ocasionadas por rayo; sin embargo, por lo menos en el 70% de los casos puede haber supervivencia, aunque es habitual que los afectados cursen con enfermedades que requieren atención médica multidisciplinaria por tiempo prolongado, por lo que se considera de importancia que el médico tenga conocimiento del tema para implementar las medidas preventivas y terapéuticas correspondientes.

Abstract

The name flare is given to the organic damage caused by the reception of atmospheric lightning. According to the World Health Organization, Mexico ranks first in the world in annual deaths caused by lightning; however, in at least 70% of cases there may be survival, although it is common for those affected to have disease that require multidisciplinary medical care for a long time, so it is considered important that the doctor has knowledge of the subject to implement the corresponding preventive and therapeutic measures.
